These Musk turtles are very entertaining to watch! Especially, when you have the food tub in your hand.
The common musk turtle has a wide geographic range in eastern North America, from Florida to Ontario, and west to Texas and Wisconsin. Common musk turtles are found in both slow-flowing sections of stream and river habitats, as well as lakes and ponds. The Common Musk turtles are also known as Stinkpot!
Musk turtles can grow to a length of about 5.1 to 14 centimeters and weighs around 1.3 pounds.
In captivity, these turtles have a lifespan of more than 50 years!
