On Friday 1st February GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne celebrates his 40th year.
Today the GSPCA team arranged a little surprise for Steve as he has taken his BIG day off.
During morning break Steve as is often the case during breaks was busy working so was called into the team break room for something urgent only to be surprised by many of the staff with a bag of gifts and a card.
Tim Pellett GSPCA Training and Community Officer gave a very caring speech and passed the gifts to Steve on behalf of the team and Steve was very humbled and very surprised by the wonderful card and gifts.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “What a surprise I had earlier today from all of the team and what wonderful gifts.”

“Tomorrow on Friday 1st February I have a party being planned at the Last Post from 7pm and all friends and colleagues are more than welcome to join me and many of the team for a fun evening of music and of course the Welsh rugby game.”
Steve joined the team nearly 8 years ago after 16+ years with the RSPCA and there have been so many exciting stories that have happened during his time as GSPCA Manager from Olivia the turtle to the new multi purpose animal welfare building, the GSPCA getting the Charity of the Year to the International Special Recognition in Animal Welfare Award, the 25 Slovakian puppies to over 40 charities visiting Guernsey for the ADCH meeting and many more……
