Lloyds Banking Group Staff helping make a difference in the community

Yesterday at the GSPCA we welcomed a group of 7 Lloyds Banking Group staff at the Shelter.

Mark Holiday, Hilary Smart, Michelle Drysdale, Alison Green, Debbie Townsend, Jay Langlois and Jo Luff arrived just before 9am and after a short induction were set to work.

From helping with the grounds work to cleaning out the hedgehogs, walking the dogs to cleaning the cats the team of staff were keen and enthusiastic despite the hot humid weather.

With nearly four acres of land and many fences, wooden panels and hutches once the wood had dried out many set to help repainting and treating them whilst others helped the GSPCA team care for the animals.

At the end of the day the GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne took the group on a tour of the facilities and talked about the work of the Shelter and the plans for the future.

After the tour and before the group left for the day all were thanked and given certificates as a way of gratitude for all of their help and hard work and also so the group could remember their time at the Shelter.

The whole group enjoyed their time and gave some wonderful feedback about the work the GSPCA carry out and the caring team at the Shelter.

"It was a really hot and muggy day but everyone got stuck in at the Animal Shelter and at the end of the day we showed the group behind the scenes and talked about the work that we do."

"Next Wednesday we have a second group from the Lloyds Banking Group who are not only helping at the GSPCA HQ but also on our stall at the West Show, and if you see any giant animals walking about it may just be one of the volunteers."
