The Golden Guernsey Goat Trail is a community project organised by Autism Guernsey with Support from GALP and everyone can get involved in some way.

Local businesses and individuals have sponsored and named goats, and the goats are decorated by local artists, clubs and community groups, schools, charities, and day centres. Each goat is unique.

The goats are fitted to plinths made by the Guernsey Prison, Paul's Joinery, R & D De Jersey, Daniel Alderton and R.H. Le Tissier, which include fixed plaques detailing the names of the goat, sponsor and designer/painter. Plaques, kindly supplied by Dowding Signs, detailing the names of the goat, sponsor and designer/painter will be fixed to the plinths.

This event is helping Autism Guernsey and GALP to continue supporting islanders with autism or literacy difficulties. Both charities make a difference to people's lives, help them to achieve their potential, become more involved in their communities, and have a better quality of life. This work is only possible due to the generosity of sponsors and supporters.

Thanks to Ogiers who kindly sponsored a goat, GSPCA staff member Beckie Bailey has kindly decorated one of the many amazing goats and today a few of the team popped to Saummarez Park to visit Baaarbara as she is called.

Beckie Bailey GSPCA staff member said “Its taken so long to paint Baaarbara but it was great fun and so lovely to see her out on show.”

“When you get to see her you will see many of the animals we have helped her at the GSPCA..”

“Thank you so much to Ogiers for kindly sponsoring the Golden Guernsey Goat and we hope that it raises lots of funds and awareness for Autism Guernsey and GALP.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was lovely to see Baaarbara today and Beckie has done a fabulous and very artistic painting of so many animals we help here at the GSPCA.”

“Thank you to Ogiers for sponsoring, all the work Beckie has done and we hope that Autism Guernsey and GALP have huge success with their Golden Guernsey Goat Trail.”
