At the GSPCA we have a huge of animals and some with very unique skills.

This week one of our degus David the Second had a very important task.

David was asked to use his psychic powers to predict the results of this weekends Euro finals between England and Italy.

David was placed in his physic exercise blue ball in a room with two flags, one for Italy and one for England and was asked to place himself on the team who he thought would win.

It was not an easy prediction with David the Second going towards England then past both teams then returning to finally land on……………

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Yesterday was a very special day as we asked David the Second to predict the winner of the England v Italy Euro final this weekend.”

“GSPCA Animal Care Assistant Sarah Kirby who cares for David the Second who we believe is the most psychic animal at the GSPCA placed him in his special exercise ball and was set a task to chose between the country flags.”

“It certainly wasn’t an easy job for the lively degu as he moved around the room but he finally made up his mind after a close tip towards Italy ha finally decided that it should indeed come home.”

Sarah Kirby GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said “It was great fun watching David the Second choose which team he thinks should win the Euro’s this weekend.”

“David the Second lives with his brother and they are actually looking for their homes.”

“They are both extremely sweet and we really hope someone can help them go to a home.”

“If you can’t offer them a home you can donate towards their care or even buy them degu gifts from our Amazon Wish List https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/25MJPPDAGXHL1?type=WishList .”

Steve continued “Shopping online can help raise funds at the same time as if you select the GSPCA through easy fund raising part of the amount through 1000’s of online retailers comes back to the GSPCA and it has raised over £2500.”

“To sign up to do this please visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/guernseyspca/?u=1CHID8 .”

“Sadly Amazon Smile doesn’t allow Guernsey charities to sign up but you can go through easy fund raising to achieve the same donation.”

“You can always chose to donate via local stores and the Amazon Wish List is a shop front showing some of the items we need but there are many others and we have published these on our Wish List page http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/our-plans-wish-list .”

“A gift of a tiny bowl costing less than a £1 to a £600 intensive care unit, every donation is hugely appreciated and really makes the team smile that there are those that care and want to support our work.”

“We are all looking forward to see if this Sunday David the Second prediction comes true.”

“For those that love football don’t forget we have our Giant Animal 5-a-side Mascot football at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 12th September.”

“For anyone wanting to join in or enter a team check out on the details by going to https://www.gspca.org.gg/page/animal-welfare-sea-front-sunday .”
