Temperance the seal pup is eating fish and can you help donate towards his care

Sadly many will know that Trevor the seal pup rescued in Jersey sadly died just before Christmas due to her ailments and ill health.
The team were devastated with the loss after a number of weeks of around the clock care.
However we are extremely pleased to report that Temperance who was rescued near Beaucette Marina last November is now feeding well and improving daily although a long way from being ready for the wild.
With the horrendous weather the team at the GSPCA are seeing the effects on the wildlife and we have had a number of calls about possible injured seals.
Geoff George Animal Collection Officer and main carer for the seals at the GSPCA said “Temperance is feeding well and improving each day although she has a long way before she is ready for the wild.”
“We have had a number of calls about possible injured seal pups over the last few days and if anyone has a concern please call us straight away on 257261 and please do not approach them as they can bite or if it is a pup you could scare its mother away.”
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “All of the team were devastated when Trevor passed away just before Christmas despite doing all that we could with the vet to help her.”
“It’s great to now see Temperance eating fish as she was so poorly when she was rescued and we are appealing for donations to help towards his care as the numbers of fish needed to feed him will increase each week.”
“With the stormy weather we are already dealing with wildlife casualties that have suffered from it and expect more in the coming days.”
