In the last week the new GSPCA entrance has been completed thanks to the aid of a grant from the Christmas Lottery.

The Christmas Lottery and the Association of Guernsey Charities awarded the GSPCA with the funds to enable the works to be carried out which has vastly improved the safety of entering and leaving the GSPCA.

The work was also helped by the fantastic team at DLM Architects.

As keen dog and animal lovers in general the team at DLM were very happy to assist the GSPCA with the planning process to create a safer access to their site in St Andrews.

The morning after the Guernsey Community Awards the new entrance was opened for the first time and has added many benefits to the Shelter from safety for visitors to additional areas for banking and planting to help wildlife.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager said "We are hugely grateful to the Christmas Lottery for helping fund the works that have helped provide the GSPCA with a much safer new entrance which also helps provide additional banking and hedging for wildlife."

"At the GSPCA we sell Christmas Lottery Tickets which help many local good causes every year in Guernsey."

"This week it has been announced that the Channel Island Christmas Lottery jackpot is up to £607,000 and with continued support this will no doubt increase."

"The Christmas Lottery has helped with a number of projects at the GSPCA over the years and we wish to thank all that support and that are involved with this amazing good cause."

"The GSPCA are always trying to improve the grounds at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews and we are hugely grateful to DLM Architects who helped us put together an application and drawings for works to be undertaken which are very much needed."

"The team at DLM Architects are fantastic and from the GSPCA we can't speak highly enough of their professionalism and support they have given."

"The plans, advice and continued support from the staff at DLM Architects is really appreciated and from all of the team and animals in our care at the GSPCA thank you for all of your wonderful help, it is really appreciated."

"We still have some banking work to do at the old entrance, but we are extremely pleased with the new entrance and thank you to all that have helped with this wonderful project which will benefit visitors on a daily basis."
