We are over joyed to announce that Andy Alford, Guy Rogers and Ben Byrom from Guernsey plus a friend for London, Rich Harland, have completed their challenge climbing Mt Blanc.

Andrew Alford said "Just wanted to write a quick thank you to everyone that’s sponsored us on the climb and to say we’re back."

"After a tough few days training/hiking/climbing we reached the mountain hut on Thursday 7th before summiting on Friday 8th at around 6.30am just as the sun came up."

"Amazing week, a few scary moments, and with a new found love for heights and climbing."

"We’ve raised a nice sum for the GSPCA but not quite hit the target, if people were waiting to see if we’d make it back before giving the site is still open."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Well done to Andy, Guy, Ben and Rich who completed their amazing challenge climbing Mt Blanc and raising funds for the GSPCA and animals in Guernsey."

"With nearly 300 animals in our care every penny really does make a difference and we are so grateful to all 4 very brave men for raising so much for animals at the GSPCA, it really is appreciated."

"There are many ways you can help animals at the GSPCA fro helping with our Flag Day on Saturday to sponsoring an animal pen."

"To find out more please check out our website or call 257261."

Mont Blanc (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃.blɑ̃]) or Monte Bianco (Italian pronunciation: [ˈmonte ˈbjaŋko]), both meaning "White Mountain", is the highest mountain in the Alps and the European Union. It rises 4,810 m (15,781 ft) above sea level and is ranked 11th in the world in topographic prominence. It is also sometimes known as La Dame blanche (French for "the White Lady") or Il Bianco (Italian for "the White One"). The mountain lies in a range called the Graian Alps, between the regions of Aosta Valley, Italy, and Haute-Savoie, France. The location of the summit is on the watershed line between the valleys of Ferret and Veny in Italy and the valleys of Montjoie Valley and Arve Valley in France.
