Yesterday on what was a very sunny afternoon 4 GSPCA team members took on the Hellvetia Triathlon to raise funds to help build a new GSPCA Wildlife Hospital. Here is the link to sponsor the team - https://giving.gg/donate/event/4656/Sponsor-the-GSPCA-team-in-the-Hellvetia-Challenge-triathlon

It all took place on Thursday 27th June 2019 with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne, GSPCA Staff Seb Goman and Gemma Gaudion and Work to Benefit placement Ben Lowndes undertaking what was a very hot and sweaty challenge.

The 4 GSPCA team members were expecting to undertake the Hellvetia Challenge which is normally a triathlon including a 600m open water swim, 2km bike ride up and down the infamous Val de Terres and finish with a 1.5km run. Due to the high wides and choppy sea instead they had to endure a 1.5km run, then the 2km bike ride up the Val de Terres and finishing with another 1.5km run.

All for of the team undertook each stage back to back and all did incredibly well and their times were –

Steve Byrne 30 minutes

Ben Lowndes 41 minutes

Seb Goman 57 minutes

Gemma Gaudion 57 minutes

It was all in aid of raising funds for the much needed GSPCA Wildlife Hospital and as mentioned you can still sponsor the team who we and all the animals are very proud of. To do so please visit this link -
