On Sunday 1st May starting at 11am Staff and Volunteers are going to walk in two teams from Vazon to Bordeaux picking up the dog poo that has been left by irresponsible dog owners.
It is not a task we relish and it is quite disgusting that third parties have to pick up someone else dog’s poo but is something the Shelter feels has to be done.

Join one of our team of Pooper Scoopers – they will be meeting at Vazon and Rousse Kiosks at 11am walking to Rousse and Bordeaux respectively. Don’t forget your sponsorship form!! (download at bottom of page or collect from Shelter)
We hope the event will:
- Raise money for the Shelter – we intend to carry collection tins and hope people will donate towards the event.
- Promote responsible dog ownership – if your dog poops – scoop!
- Help to clean up some of our beautiful coast line.
- Will be good for tourism - visitors enjoying coastal walks often have to dodge the doggy land mines
- Allow us to take our dogs looking for new homes out for a lovely long walk.
- Show people that not all dog owners are irresponsible
