 The GSPCA on site charity shop will undergo a transformation soon but before that we need to clear some stock. Over the Easter weekend, the shop will be open and weather permitting we will have a table top sale outside.

Spend £10 or over and get free access to the public areas of the GSPCA for your family group or with your friend. Usual cost is £2 per person.

GSPCA have partnered with Islandmums to raise funds for the charity - £10 from any Islandmums membership purchase this April will be donated to GSCPA.  

Islandmums Family Club is an annual membership program providing hundreds of benefits to its members. These include over 150 offers with loved local businesses in Guernsey, Jersey and Sark; comprehensive what's on guides for family events; priority booking for classes, events and activities and much more.  

Annual membership rates start at £30.  

Following the most successful round of nominations to date, Ceva Animal Health revealed its shortlist for its seventh annual Ceva Animal Welfare Awards earlier this year.

Tomorrow the finals take place and finalists and guests are traveling from around the world to attend this spectacular evening.

The GSPCA are hugely thankful to the wonderful team at Nashcopy who continue to support the work of the Animal Shelter.

Nashcopy support the GSPCA in many ways and last month they kindly donated a fantastic printer to help with 24/7 work helping thousands of animals every year.

The GSPCA continually have many needs of a printer, copier and scanner from the cruelty investigation work to the forms needed when stray animals are collected by their owners.

Last month the GSPCA helped celebrate a young ladies birthday at the GSPCA.

GSPCA Animal Care Assistant Cathryn Tyrell welcomed Sundara along with a number of her family and friends for a special behind the scenes tour at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Sundara and her friends all had a great day visiting the many animals and getting many special treats from stroking some of the friendly pet animals to gifts at the end of the tour.

Cathryn Tyrell GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said "It was lovely meeting the birthday girl Sundara and her friends last month."

The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to Herm Island and Jono Bailey who have recently helped us care for some of our trees on site at the GSPCA.  

Jono is a tree surgeon and from Herm Island we kindly were able to borrow fuel and a chain saw.

Jono lived in Herm for over 20 years and also worked on the stunning and pretty island so many love to visit.

When Herm island heard about the work needing to be done at the GSPCA they wanted to help out and kindly allowed Jono to borrow the chainsaw.  

Our fourth volunteer induction evening of 2017 takes place on Tuesday 4th April at 630pm.

We are always looking for volunteers to help at the Shelter in a variety of roles. 

During the school breaks we run a series of guided tours at the GSPCA and we have now planned for 2017 with some special tours for the children. You can also book a tour for a special event or birthday. 

This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews and see the work being carried out for the new build.

We are arranging the guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm with the next being held during the Easter break

The on-site GSPCA Charity Shop has this month welcomed three new faces who will be helping to run the on site shop to raise much needed funds for the hundreds of animals in our care and the thousands we help each year.

We are currently appealing for a kind company to help put a floor into the shop area which has currently got bare concrete.

We are looking at options of vinyl tiles as we allow dogs to visit the shop and appealing for either a floor company to help or a kind donation to help floor our shop.

Island FM and Trim Dog would like to invite you and your furry friends to the Annual Charity Dog Walk!

Join us on Sunday 9th April at the Liberation Monument for a 9.30am start.

We’ll enjoy a short stroll together to Bulwer Avenue and back! A registration fee of £5 will be collected to support Animal Aid and the GSPCA

They’ll be goodie bags and certificates for each doggie as well as a raffle for the walkers (tickets on sale from Trim Dog £1 per strip), who could win up to £100 of Trim Dog vouchers!
