This Sunday is the biggest event of the year for the GSPCA.
The day is packed with events, stalls and more but for stall holders we are asking everyone to set up between 8am and 930am with all vehicles parked by 930am as there is the Battle of Britain parade who prepare at 9.40am and set off at 9.50am.
The parade will come from the Weighbridge Roundabout and will then line up outside the Town Church and Marks and Spencers for an inspection.
The inspection takes place with His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey and the Deputy Bailiff of Guernsey.
Earlier this year Sarah Ozanne and Lucy Ogier (Animal Care Assistants at the GSPCA) organised a competition to increase awareness of Hedgehogs in Guernsey.
There were two classes - creating a 'Hedgehog Awareness Poster' and 'Build a Hedgehog House'.
We were amazed by the response and had some fantastic entries.
Last night we held our sixth Volunteer Evening and 8th group Induction at the GSPCA of 2014.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager was on hand to greet and talk to the 10 new volunteers about the work of the Shelter and induct the keen new volunteers about the procedures and protocols at the Animal Shelter.
Some were interested in helping fund raise, others clean kennels, walk dogs, socialise cats and one doing his Duke of Edinburgh.
4 of the new volunteers have started this morning and the others over the next two weeks.

At the GSPCA we are normally appealing for homes for animals, but we are currently appealing for your unwanted soft toys.
After a very busy summer fund raising at many events we are running low on cuddly toys which we use as prizes on some of our games to help raise funds for the Shelter.
If you have any unwanted soft toys then please pop them up to the Shelter or if you need a vehicle to pick up quite a few then please let us know and we can arrange collection.
On Saturday Manager Mr Ian Cuthbertson and a team of the Co-op Longstore Locale staff walked in aid of GSPCA.
The 2014 'Co-op 2 Co-op' walk took 8 hours and the staff taking part paid a visit to every Co-op retail outlet in Guernsey, some 15 miles in all.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager asked Co-op Longstore Locale Manager Mr Ian Cuthbertson how it all went and here is his reply "It all went very well thanks, we'd finished by 16:00 hrs, some 8 hours walking from shop to shop."
Today the GSPCA welcomed the third group of 7 Voluntourists from the Crystal Serentiy.
The group arrived just before 10am where they were shown around the Animal Shelter and during their tour with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne they found out about not only the Animal Shelter but also a little of the history of Guernsey and of island life.
After the tour the group had a short coffee break before they helped out around the site from dog walking to socialising the cats.
Today at the GSPCA a young lad called Oliver Marsh from Vale School popped in with a very nice gift for the Shelter.
He decided that instead of an ice bucket challenge and because he didn't want to get wet and cold that he would do a 'Nice Bucket Challenge'.
His 'Nice Bucket Challenge' consisted of a large blue bucket full of goodies for the animals at the GSPCA.
GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne met Oliver at Animal Shelter Reception and thanked Oliver for his wonderful gift.
At the GSPCA we provide a 24 hour emergency rescue service for animals in Guernsey, but we would like to remind everyone that for routine and none emergencies the opening times at the GSPCA.
The GSPCA reception telephone line is open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm and we are closed bank holidays and Sundays.
The number for general enquiries, boarding, education, dog training, our shop and other services is 01481 257261 and we always welcome your call during our opening times.
