Guernsey and Jersey grey seals responding well to treatment

In the last 8 weeks we have had two poorly seal pups come into our care this season.

Shakespeare from Jersey was rescued in October and just over a week ago the now named ‘Emilia’ rescued in St Peter Port are both responding well to treatment.

With over 300 animals in our care and over 3000 through our doors each year there are many things we use and need 24/7 365 days a year and many Christmas Gift ideas for the animals in our care on our Amazon Wish List.

There are many ways to support our work and every penny makes a huge difference during these difficult time.  There are a huge range of ways in which you can support our work and help us care for the animals at the GSPCA.

A Naughty Elf on the Shelf from the Guernsey Press Competition at the GSPCA

Once again the GSPCA are part of the Elf on the Shelf Guernsey Press Competition.

The naughty little Elf can be seen during our opening hours which are 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.

Outside these hours he sneaks around the Shelter and we will try to catch a few pictures of his adventures in the run up to Christmas.

Full Planning Approved - Buy a Brick for Christmas or Become a Build Partner and help Wildlife in Guernsey this Christmas

The GSPCA recently received the written confirmation that full planning has been approved for a new Wildlife Hospital at the GSPCA.

This Christmas why not Buy a Brick to help this much needed Wildlife Hospital become a reality.

Option 1: £250 have your family name or company logo engraved on a brick which will feature in the build of the Wildlife Hospital.

Option 2: £50 buy a brick for the build.

4 New Cat First Aiders in Guernsey and dates set for 2023 Pet First Aid Courses

Last night the GSPCA are held the last Cat First Aid Course of 2022.

GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 25 years working in the field of animal rescue runs the training and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “In May we held our first Dog First Aid Course of 2022 and we had a full house of 19 and on Wednesday the week before last we trained a further 21 islanders.”
