Baby bunny rescued with a broken leg - have you lost your baby rabbit?

Submitted by Steve on 13:11, 10th Nov, 2016 | 0

This morning a baby bunny has been rescued with a broken leg.

The young animal was found near Genats Estate in Castel and has just been to the vets to be seen what can be done to help this poor defenceless young rabbit.

GSPCA Ambulance Volunteer Warden Andrew Green rushed the injured bunny to the vets and thankfully despite his injury he has received initial treatment and has received treatments including pain relief.

The GSPCA are appealing for the owner to please call us on 257261 as soon as possible.

Co-op Helping Hands helps floor and kit out our ferret room at the GSPCA

Submitted by Steve on 10:57, 10th Nov, 2016 | 0

We are hugely grateful to a Co-op Helping Hands grant which helped enable us to also fit a new floor and new large runs in our ferret room at the GSPCA.

The floors were in desperate need of repair and we have been hoping to improve our facilities for our ferrets for many years.

Each year we help dozens of stray and unwanted ferrets and currently have 4 lovely ferrets in need of homes.

Two extremely sweet ferrets are Gizmo and Ghost (as pictured). They came in to as as their owners could sadly no longer care for them.

Stan may be safe at the GSPCA but it sounds like she is not the only Stick Insect in Guernsey

Submitted by Steve on 01:08, 10th Nov, 2016 | 0

Last month we had rescued what we thought was a stray stick insect found in the Villocq area of Castel.

We thought this to be the first stray stick insect we have had on record at the GSPCA and we put out an appeal for anyone who has lost their pet insect to get in touch.

As a result of the appeal we have had contact with those living in the area to say that over the last three years they have spotted the stick insects both in their garden and home of which the picture is one cheeky lady that was spotted in a bedroom in the Villocq area.
