Myxomatosis killing hundreds of Guernsey rabbits and keeping your rabbits safe
The GSPCA wants to reinforce their recent message for all rabbits to take great care as Rabbit Haemorraghic Viral Disease (RHVD2) variant 2 are affecting our wild and domestic rabbits again here in Guernsey and a massive surge of rabbits with myxomatosis are being seen with the large numbers of rabbits around Guernsey.
These fatal diseases are a huge risk to unvaccinated rabbits and especially to those in outside enclosures.
Cazenove Capital Team Lend a Helping Hand at the GSPCA
The GSPCA is delighted to thank a team of six volunteers from Cazenove Capital who generously gave up their time on 13th May to support the charity at its Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
With several GSPCA team members away, the extra support came at a particularly important time. After a quick team photo with Tim Pellett, GSPCA Community and Training Officer, the group got straight to work, assisting with a range of essential daily tasks.
2026 GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday a wonderful success and fun dog show results from the 3rd May
On the 3rd May the GSPCA ran another amazing Seafront Sunday with a theme of celebrating animals in Guernsey.
With over 100 stalls and things to do a fun day was had by all despite a short shower the weather was mostly on our side.

As out Wildlife Hospital build continues we continue to appeal for funds and support for this and all of the #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal .
As part of this we have been applying for grants and funding to help support the biggest build in our 153 year history.
We have had the wonderful news that our entry into the Conservation Awards 2026 for funding and support for native planting around the new Wildlife Hospital has been shortlisted.
1pm Fun Dog Show with the GSPCA at this weekends Charities Seafront Sunday
This Sunday the GSPCA will be at the first ever Charities Seafront Sunday run by the Association of Guernsey Charities between 10am and 4pm and at 1pm we have a Fun Dag Show as part of the celebrations.
With around 40 charities and good causes and over 60 other stalls and things to do and see don’t miss out.
You can register for the fun dog show at the GSPCA stall on the Crown Pier and it starts at 1pm with amazing rosettes and other prizes.
