On the 15th October a young gannet was rescued from Grande Rocques that was extremely weak and very ill.
The bird had to be kept under a heat lamp and was placed on a series of treatments and medications.
Also the poor gannet found it extremely difficult to digest food, and required feeding assistance.
The bird was named 'Blue' and after 3 weeks of intensive care and a period of rehabilitation on the GSPCA pool's the gannet was fit enough to release last week.
Sadly the weather wasn't ideal so staff waited until Saturday 29th November.
On sale at the GSPCA reception between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday we have a limited number of GSPCA Cuddly Dogs on sale.

The GSPCA officially stop rehoming on the 15th December until the 2nd January, but some animals may be suitable during these periods. The GSPCA do not believe in pets as presents and each home is looked at individually as is the pet.
On sale at the GSPCA reception between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday we have a limited number of GSPCA Christmas cards on sale.
This year we have been contacted by a number of kind individuals who are not sending Christmas cards.
Instead they are telling family and friends in place of cards they are making a donation to the GSPCA in their stead.
The GSPCA are hugely grateful to those very kind individuals who are thinking of the animals in our care this Christmas.
We continue to search for Bertie and log reports from around Guernsey
We have had a number of recent reports in the Perelle area, which could have been Bertie, but we still have no pictures to confirm it was him.
Staff, volunteers and many wonderful kind souls are continuing to help in the search for Bertie, as well as displaying posters to help advertise him.
Previous sightings have been around the Grandes Rocque, Barras Lane and near St Sampson's High School.
The days following Christmas & the New Year at the GSPCA we will be running a series of guided tours.

We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and reception will shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve and News Years Eve.

We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.
Yesterday the GSPCA and supporters spent the day at the Last Post celebrating St Andrews Day.
A fun family day was held in the Parish of St Andrews to raise funds for animals in Guernsey.
The GSPCA has been based in St Andrews since 1929 and for the first time we held an event to celebrate our Parishes Saint.
We had a small fun dog show, lots of games, goods on sale, a raffle and great entertainment.
