On Friday 20th June 2025 it is #BringYourDogtoWorkDay sometimes known as #TakeYourDogToWorkDay which we celebrate here at the GSPCA each as do many around the islands.
All around Guernsey each year businesses and offices have had their 4 some 3 legged friends come to work and this year Bring Your Dog To Work Day takes places today, Friday 21st June.
This year we are asking islanders to get involved to help raise funds for the much needed new kennels as part of the GSPCA BIGGEST BUILD.
Last month was the GSPCA annual Cupcake Week, a time to make, bake and sell cake in aid of supporting the GSPCA and to have a bit of fun.
Each May the GSPCA promote this special week to help raise funds and awareness and last month on May 16th during GSPCA Cupcake Week staff and students of from GRG were delighted to get involved and had a fantastic time.

Lauren Knight SHEQ Officer Compliance Administrator from GRG said “We held a cupcake sale for Cupcake week and we raised £93.00.”
The GSPCA in any one year can help 150 to up 300 cats hit by cars on the road every year and there is no law in place for those that caused the accident to report the injured or in many cases deceased feline.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “On average every year the GSPCA helps between 150 and 200 cats hit by vehicles on our roads every year.”
“In one year the number rose to 300 and in that year there were 5 that I helped in just one night shift.”
Over the last month the GSPCA have been advertising the opportunity for Guernsey Election Candidates to visit the GSPCA to find out about the 24/7 work we carry out helping our community, animals and working with many of the States departments extremely closely.
Of the first three events this week open for Candidates to visit only one has attended so we set additional dates and delighted to announce last week 20 Candidates and current Deputies attended the GSPCA and this Wednesday a further 7 came along.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Last month the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey were delighted to say that the Dolphin Discovery Trail treasure hunt app has gone live and since 100’s have been getting involved.”
“After lots of testing you can visit Turfhunt and if asked for a code use EADASD.”
Maximillian, a Madeiran wall lizard who hitched a lift in a suitcase from Madeira is now in his forever home.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We are always looking for loving homes for animals from the many rabbits, ferrets, older cats and you will often see many home to homes on our social media, so if wanting to give an animal a home please do complete an online adoption form or pop in and say hello.”
“Maximillian who recently completed his quarantine after hitching a lift in a bag from Maderia we are delighted to report is now in a new home.”

‘Just as an update to say my daughter Chloe Mauger began her fund raising challenge yesterday to cycle 112 miles during June in aid of GSPCA. She entered the Rock to Rocque yesterday, her picture was in the paper today, so nearly 30 miles completed already and she has raised nearly £250 so far.
We have a just giving page and I have put some information on LinkedIn and we also update the progress on my Strava account.

Guernsey Arts are thrilled to be hosting their Arts Sunday 2025 on 8th June 2023.
Held on the Town Seafront between the Liberation Monument and the Albert Pier, St Peter Port, Arts Sunday is a free event for the whole community with an Arts Market, activities, performances and more.
Once again the GSPCA are delighted to announce we will be joining the fantastic team and event at the Arts Seafront Sunday.
