The group with 4 teachers were shown around the Shelter by Welfare and Education Officer Emma Trousdale.  The children got to view the cats and hedgehogs, ferrets and baby birds, dogs being exercised and rabbits being brushed.

After a tour of the Shelter, Emma gave a talk about caring for animals and all about the work of the GSPCA.  The children learnt about the 5 freedoms and about thinking how to care for their own pets.

During the talk a very special character popped in to say hello.  Bernard the Shelter mascot made a surprise appearance and he had a very warm welcome from all Rabbitts meet Blanchelande College School childrem at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in Guernseyof the children who all got the chance to shake his hand before he went for his afternoon walk.
