Guernsey College Access Course Visit the GSPCA

Last Tuesday students from Delancey Campus came along to visit the GSPCA.

The purpose of the visit was to fulfil enrichment and practical experience opportunities for the students by engaging with realistic work experience, meeting with potential employers and discussing volunteering avenues.

Amherst Primary School visit the GSPCA during GSPCA Purple Week

Last month during GSPCA Purple Week celebrating 144 years helping animals in Guernsey the Animal Shelter had many visitors from local schools to find out the work that goes on 24/7 365 days a year helping animals in Guernsey

One of the schools to visit the GSPCA were Amherst Primary School from St Peter Port.

The group were welcomed by the team at the GSPCA in the training and event room before being taken for a behind scenes tour at the Shelter.

Hot drinks now on sale at the GSPCA Reception Shop open 9am - 5pm Monday - Saturday

Today at the GSPCA the first hot coffee was sold to Helen Holmes one of the staff at the Animal Shelter as we launched our new hot drinks machine.

A selection of hot drinks are now on sale at the reception area of the GSPCA between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday, we are closed on Bank Holidays and Sundays.

Drinks include coffee, latte, mocha, cappuccino, tea and we will soon have hot soup varieties all for just £2 each.

18th Delisle Guides get Animal Active at the GSPCA and see behind the night time scenes

Last night the 18th Delisle Guides with 4 leaders visited the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Despite being another cold and dark evening the group of 22 young ladies enjoyed a tour of the premises learning about the work of the GSPCA and caring for animals.

Before the tour took place the Rail-J Patrol who had been working towards their Animal Active Badge presented Steve Byrne the GSPCA Manager with a donation of £42.50 which they had raised through a Cake Sale to help animals in Guernsey and they were also presented with their badges from the Group Leaders.

2nd Guernsey Cub Scout Group come for an evening visit to the GSPCA

Last night the 2nd Cub Scouts with 4 leaders visited the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Despite being a wet, windy, dark evening the group of 30 enjoyed a tour of the premises learning about the work of the GSPCA and caring for animals.

The GSPCA are always working to educate all age groups about our work and caring for animals.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager who took the tour around the Shelter said 'The 2nd Cub Scout group from Capelles were a fantastic group who were very well behaved and full of questions and stories about animals.'
