Early today the GSPCA had a call about a seabird tangled in fishing line.

The bird was discovered by mother Emma Lancaster and daughter Hallie who were out for an early morning sea swim at Belle Grève Bay.

The bird was so tangled it could neither fly or swim.

Thankfully the finders were able to free the bird but concerned for its welfare brought the bird to the GSPCA.

The guillemot arrived at the GSPCA just after 7am where GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne was able to accept Oreo and check the bird over and give the care it needed.
