First Ducklings Born Today at the GSPCA in 2012

Today when one of our Senior Care Assistants went to feed some of the wildlife when she discovered a lovely treat.

One of our female ducks hatched 14 little ducklings and proceeded to take them down onto the pond to see Gert and her friends.

What quacktastic weather we are all having.  So nice and sunny for this time of year. I hear the staff calling it an Indian Summer which is funny because I’m supposedly an Indian Running Duck!!!

It’s that time of year when the Shelter becomes the temporary home to lots of lost and abandoned ducklings who for one reason or another have found themselves separated from their mother and the rest of their brood.
