We are pleased to announce that Jimmy who was rescued last week after being shot by an airgun pellet has been rehabilitated and is now back in the wild.

If it hadn't been for the kind individuals that found Jimmy the Buzzard who has been sexed as female then she would of surely died.

Only days ago Jimmy was released close to where she was found. On route she was very keen to get back to the wild and quickly made off as soon as she had the chance.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said 'We are here to rescue animals and get them back where they truly belong and to help Jimmy has been one of the highlights of the year so far.'

'It is wonderful to know that we can help animals back to the wild and it is just one of the reasons why the GSPCA works so hard every day.'

'It's days like this when we release birds such as Jimmy that really warms the heart.'

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We haven't yet had any useful information or leads to find out what has happened to Jimmy and we are still appealing for information.'

'We have had so many Islanders offering help to find out what they can which we all really appreciate.'
