From today the GSPCA are proud to launch a new initiative with the Link Centre at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Every Tuesday up to and including the 18th December between 10.30am and 12pm students and staff from the Link Centre will be running coffee mornings at the GSPCA as part of the students Duke of Edinburgh to help raise funds for the Animal Shelter.

The Link Centre's primary role is that of a specialist centre to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, their schools and families.  To find out more click here.

Not only will there be hot and cold drinks and snacks on sale to raise funds for the Shelter, but also a selection of bric-a-brac, GSPCA goods, pet supplies and many bargains to be had. We are also very pleased that many of the products to eat and drink carry the Fairtrade logo.

This will be held in our training room at the Shelter (which has ramp access), where tables and chairs will be available and a small carpet area with toys for young children.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We have been working with the Link Centre over the last few months to help provide placements for the students and this is a new initiative which will help not only increase their skills but also help raise funds to care for animals in Guernsey.'  'The last event we held on World Animal Day was a fantastic success and we are hoping that this could become a regular feature at the GSPCA.'

If you would like to find out more contact the Shelter on 01481 257261 or pop along on a Tuesday between 10.30am and 12pm for a hot drink and browse the items on sale.

We are hoping to hold more regular coffee mornings to help raise funds for the Shelter and if you think you could help please get in touch with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne on 257261 or email [email protected]

The GSPCA is always trying to raise funds for projects and equipment and a number of items can be seen on the GSPCA wish list by clicking here.

We are very grateful for the recent donations that enabled us to install a new showering facility for dogs at the Animal Shelter.
