Christmas Day Santa popped along to the Animal Shelter to ensure all of the animals had something for Christmas.

The staff working Christmas Day also made sure all the animals had a lovely day with presents and special dinners.

The staff handed out toys, chews and much more to ensure it was a special day for the fur and feathered animals in the care of the GSPCA.

The presents came from donations from kind members of public as well as those that bought the £5 gift certificates that the GSPCA sold to enable us to give the animals a toy and nice meal.

Santa said ‘Ho ho ho, after a busy night I popped by to say hello to the staff and animals at the Shelter and ensure that they too had a lovely day.’ ‘The animals had a wonderful time thanks to the caring staff and it was nice to see the donkeys which I fed some special Christmas carrots.’

The GSPCA hopes everyone had a lovely Christmas and can say that Christmas Day was very kind to the animals of Guernsey this year with no sick or injured animals being brought in, although we did have an injured hedgehog in on Boxing Day.
