Found stray albino rabbit near Delancy Park

On the 12th May a stray bunny was rescued near Delancy Park and brought into the GSPCA.

He is an albino, male, dwarf, friendly, adult rabbit.

The team have called the bunny who is very sweet 'Sebastian'.

Stray lop eared bunny found in St Sampsons

On the 17th March a stray bunny was rescued in St Sampsons and brought into the GSPCA.

The male tan/ginger lop eared rabbit was found near the filter box close to St Sampsons High School.

The team have called the bunny who is quite large and very sweet 'Max'.

It's not the Easter Bunny it's a stray rabbit found on Victoria Avenue now at the GSPCA

On the 13th March a stray bunny was rescued from 4 cats.

The male black lionhead rabbit was found worried for its life on Victoria Avenue.

Despite is ordeal the bunny now named 'Paddy' is doing well although the staff are caring for him as he was found with a few matts in his long hair.

Stray canary found in Castel now safe at the GSPCA

Just over a week ago on the 27th February the GSPCA were called out to rescue a stray canary in Castel.

The bird was found on the 27th February and GSPCA Animal Care Assistant and Collection Officer Sarah Ozanne was called out in the GSPCA Ambulance to help the little bird.

The bird is well and currently in the care of the team at the Animal Shelter.

William an injured stray cockerel from St Saviours at the GSPCA

Last Tuesday GSPCA Volunteer Warden Dave Brook was called out to help rescue an injured bird in need.

The cockerel which was in St Saviours had an injured potentially broken leg and wasn't in very good condition.

'William' as the male bird has been called is mainly white with some black feathers and has improved daily whilst at the GSPCA.

As a stray domestic bird we are appealing for an owner and if anyone has any information please call 01481 257261.

The bird was found in the Rue de la Fosse area of St Saviours.

Mother & daughter Catherine & Charlotte rescued and now safe at the GSPCA

Just over a week ago a mother chicken and her chick were rescued in Torteval.

The mother now named Catherine was extremely weak and thin when she was found and wouldn't have survived if the kind member of public hadn't rescued her and her daughter who is now called Charlotte in the cold weather we have been experiencing.

Both birds are doing very well and putting on weight every day.

9 stray ducks found waddling on St Claire's Hill

Yesterday GSPCA Ambulance Collection Officer Geoff George was called out to 9 stray ducks.

All nine are a mixture of domestic breeds and were caught on St Claire's Hill.

On arrival the birds were checked over and although fine in themselves were very hungry.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "It's not every day we catch and take in 9 stray ducks in one go but the birds are all well and currently in one of our aviaries"

Stray canary rescued on La Brigade

Nine days ago a stray canary was rescued on La Brigade.

Joey as the male yellow canary has been called is doing well at the GSPCA and is currently singing to the other birds in our care.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "Last week a stray canary was rescued and brought into the Shelter who we have called Joey."

"He is singing so we know he is a boy and yellow in colour and we are appealing for an owner to please pop in or give us a call on 257261."

Another winter stray reptile - Found terrapin in the Green Lanes

Earlier today a stray terrapin was found walking along the Green Lanes.

Nemo as the reptile has been called is only the size of small hand was brought in this afternoon to the GSPCA.

Now housed in an intensive care unit Nemo appears in good health and we are appealing for an owner to come forward.

Yesterday a stray bearded dragon was found on Jerbourg Point and this is the second stray reptile in 2 days.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "Today a kind passer by in the Green Lanses found a small terrapin which we have now called Nemo."

A stray dragon found at Jerbourg point

Yesterday a stray dragon was saved in Guernsey.

Out at Jerbourg Point a member of public came across a stray Bearded Dragon.

Very cold the team at the GSPCA have named the unusual stray Oliver and we are pleased to report despite being out in the Guernsey winter he is now safe at the Animal Shelter and made it through the night.

Their natural habitats include deserts, arid and rocky areas, dry forests and scrublands and are mainly found in the eastern and central parts of Australia and not the south east of Guernsey.
