Last month a young man and a young lady interested in an animal care career spent a week experiencing work and helping out at the GSPCA.
Charles Allen and Bethany Shackcloth from Les Beaucamps High spent a four long shifts working with the team at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
Where as many of their fellow students were carrying out work experience 9am to 5pm, Charles and Bethany although only worked a 4 day week their shifts were much longer being from 8am in the morning until 6pm at night as the staff at the GSPCA have to work long days to care for the animals.
Last week we held our fourth volunteer induction of 2017 at the GSPCA and saw another packed room of 15 new helpers keen to learn how they can get involved with us here at the Animal Shelter adding to the 62 inducted this year taking this years inducted volunteers to a total of 77 not including others that have helped from businesses, groups and other organisations.
Tomorrow between 9am and 6pm the GSPCA will be at the EY Careers and Skills Show at Beau Sejour.
At our stand we will have members of our team to chat about working for the GSPCA and also the many volunteer opportunities.
Not only will there be members of our team through the day, we will also have a few shelled four legged friends.

The GSPCA are extremely grateful to Source Recruitment as not only did they do a great deal to help at the Shelter but they have also recently joined the GSPCA as a Silver Angel Pen Pal Sponsor and so help support the many animals in our care.
