With Christmas only days away the team at the GSPCA would like to share a message from all the team and animals at the GSPCA.

The GSPCA works 24/7 as we will all through Christmas and New Year and there are many ways to support our work and the animals in our care and check out the links below.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Today after holding fire drill training we got the team together to sing a Christmas song to appeal for donations for the many animals in our care."

"We had great fun singing 'We Woof you a Waggy Christmas and Meow New Year' which was my first composed song I've written!"

Beckie Bailey GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said "We all had so much fun singing 'We Woof you a Waggy Christmas and Meow New Year'."

"Many of us singing will be working Christmas Day and we are appealing for presents and gifts as the song says to treat the animals at the GSPCA."

Geoff George GSPCA Animal Collection Officer and Head of Hedgehogs and Marine Mammals said "That was so much fun."

"We have had over 600 hedgehogs in this year and have over 130 at present and any Christmas gifts for them from hedgehog food to honey would be really appreciated."

"A really amazing Christmas gift would be intensive care units as ours are constantly full."

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant and Head of Cats said "We currently have a full cattery and we are appealing for cat gifts from our Amazon Wish list so the cats can have a 'Meow New Year'."

"We have some very poorly cats in our care and many in need of homes and although we are very careful when rehoming over Christmas anyone interested we are open every day except Christmas Day other than for emergencies."

"Boxing Day and New Years Day we will be open 11am to 4pm."

Seb Goman Animal Care Assistant and Head of Dogs said "We are busy wrapping presents for some of the dogs in our care so they can have a 'Waggy Christmas'."

"There are many ways you can support our work at the GSPCA and we hope everyone enjoys our Christmas song."

Steve continued "To see our Christmas song on facebook please visit https://www.facebook.com/132647866814265/posts/2691808314231528/ or on youtube https://youtu.be/-SpnS4bseFA ."

Here are the words from our Christmas song -

We woof you a waggy Christmas
We meow you a cuddly Christmas
We tweat you a Merry Christmas and a fluttery New Year
GSPCA tidings we bring to you and your pets
We woof you a waggy Christmas and a meow New Year

Oh, bring us some doggy treats
Oh, bring us some hedgehog food
Oh, bring us some bunny goodies
And bring it right here

GSPCA tidings we bring to you and your pets
We woof you a waggy Christmas and a meow New Year
We won't go until we treat them
We won't go until we treat them
We won't go until we treat them
So bring it right here

GSPCA tidings we bring to you and your pets
We woof you a waggy Christmas and a meow New Year
We all like the animal treats
We all like the great gifts
We all like the sponsorship
With all its good cheers

GSPCA tidings we bring to you and your pets
We woof you a waggy Christmas and a meow New Year
We woof you a waggy Christmas
We meow you a cuddly Christmas
We tweat you a Merry Christmas and a fluttery New Year
