Today is National Cat Day and there are many ways you can celebrate this week.

Tonight at the Market Bistro we have Spooky Halloween Bingo for only £14.50 for adults and £10.50 for children which includes Spooky Pie and Monster Mash. For details please go to -

All this week at 2pm we have guided tours at the GSPCA so you can see the many cats in need of a home like Mitzi who is our longest stay cat at the GSPCA. For details please go to -

Also this Sunday we have another cat first aid course. it starts at 9.30am and for only £15 you can learn about how you can help save a cats life. For details please go to -

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said "I love working in the cattery at the GSPCA and it is one of the areas we are trying to fund raise for to rebuild as we see so many cats as strays and unwanted."

"There are lots of ways you can help us celebrate National Cat Day from joining our Spooky Halloween Bingo to spreading the word of cats in need of homes."

"We have guided tours this week at the GSPCA so there are opportunities to visit the many cats we have here at the Shelter."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "From lost and found, to stray and unwanted, abandoned to welfare calls, road traffic accidents to ferals, microchipping to temporary care we help well over 1000 cats each year at the GSPCA."

"It is estimated that there are between 8000 and 10,000 cats in Guernsey, so each year that is around 1 in 8 cats that at the GSPCA we help."

"There are many ways to celebrate cats with us this week for National Cat Day and we would like to thank the Guernsey Press and all the sponsors for the pages advertising the cats in need of a home here at the GSPCA and at Guernsey Animal Aid Cats."
