On Saturday 21st July the GSPCA team joined the Association of Guernsey Charities at Government House for the Government House Charities Fete.

The GSPCA is a member of the Association of Guernsey Charities (AGC) who were founded in 1984 with the GSPCA membership number being 003.

The GSPCA benefit in many ways from the membership of the AGC from the events and talks they run to the Christmas Lottery Grants which have helped with many projects over the years from disabled access to intensive care units.

The event was held at Government House and the GSPCA are very proud that the Lieutenant-Governor His Excellency Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder KBE CB is Patron to the GSPCA and the GSPCA team had a lovely catch up with our Patron and Lady Corder at the Government House Charities Fete.

The GSPCA stall had tombolas, GSPCA goods and raffle tickets which has a top prize of £1000 on sale and we raised a wonderful grand total of £272.50 at the fantastic charity event which will help the 500+ animals at the GSPCA.

The raffle tickets are still on sale at the GSPCA reception area and the draw takes place at the GSPCA 1920’s Ball at the Farmhouse Hotel in September which there are limited places still available for.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Suzy, Shelia, Joseph and I had a fantastic day on the GSPCA stall at Government House for the Association of Guernsey Charities Government House Charities Fete.”

“We’d like to thank all involved and supported what was a lovely day and a huge thanks from all must go to our Patron His Excellency Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder KBE CB and his wife who hosted the event in their lovely grounds.”

“The AGC put on a great day and fun was had by all and there was plenty of entertainment.”

“The AGC do so much for local charities from speaking to the States of Guernsey to hosting training events and talks and from all at the GSPCA we would like to thank them for all they do and for this great event.”

"A very special visitor to our stall was Brooke the pug who was one of the Slovakian puppies rescued in 2015 and was part of the WAGs or Wellbeing Animals Guernsey stall."

Suzy Rose GSPCA Volunteer and Warden said “We had a lovely day at the Government House Charities Fete.”

“We raised over £270 on our stall and selling raffle tickets.”

“The raffle will be drawn at the GSPCA 1920’s Ball at the Farmhouse Hotel which is on the 22nd September.”
