Today we are looking at businesses that help animals in Guernsey.

Both today and tomorrow during Volunteers Week we have staff from branched of Lloyds Bank helping around the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

The staff from Lloyds Banks today include David, Chris, Gaye, Cindy, Karen, Craig and Naomi.

The Animal Shelter is nearly 4acres in size and the staff from Lloyds are volunteering around site helping care for the grounds and in preparing many of the soft release animal pens.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'With Spring well and truly flowing into Summer the growing season means a lot of work for staff and volunteers around the GSPCA Animal Shelter and it is often a real struggle to keep up with the warm and wet weather.'

'The Lloyds staff have been real stars this morning around the grounds and have been working hard to help with everything from the duck pond to where we soft release the hedgehogs.'

'I think their highlight has been when we had 5 hoglets brought in but their day isn't over yet.'Lloyds staff helping the GSPCA in Guernsey hoglets hedgehogs

'All of the Lloyds staff arrived very clean and tidy, but with all the hard work their putting in I think they may look a little different at the end of the day.'

'We are hugely grateful to all of the Lloyds Bank staff and look forward meeting the second group tomorrow.'
