#GSPCAPurpleWeek is a time to celebrate the long history of the Animal Shelter and the work of the GSPCA.

The GSPCA week starts Friday 11th February and celebrations will carry on until the 18th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.

149 years ago some kind islanders came together as they realised that cruelty to animals was an issue and started the islands charity to prevent cruelty to animals, promote kindness and educate.

Nearly a century and a half later the GSPCA with its HQ in St Andrews works 24/7 365 days a year helping thousands of animals through its doors and many more out on the roads, advising owners and our education work.

Since the pandemic started the GSPCA has continued its vital work and we need your support now more than ever due to the difficult times.

As we are in lockdown and social distancing applies there are still many ways you could raise funds and promote our work during #GSPCAPurpleWeek and here are just a few ideas –
