At the GSPCA the team love to hear how the animals are doing that have been adopted and we wanted to share this wonderful letter from Benny a cat that was recently rehomed -

‘Dear Steve and Anna

As promised I am writing to let you know how I am getting on in my new home.

I've been here a week now and settling in very well.

I was very timid on the first day and took a few hours to even venture very far from my cat box.

However, I've formed a very strong bond with Naomi (14) and she plays with me a lot after school. I like all my new toys but I particularly like my coloured ping pong balls.

I have lots of room to run around and I certainly do that in the evenings (that's my time for exercise and being very cheeky).

I'm eating a bowl of biscuits every day (the ones Anna told us about) and a bowl of cat food everyday. I've used my litter tray from day one and never made a mess.

I definitely don't like the window cleaner (he makes too much noise).

In the last two days I've been confident to sit on my new owners laps for quite a while in the evening. I think that shows I'm getting on really well.

I do like people to speak to me all the time (quietly though) and I really like to be with people.

I've become very sociable - just don't try to pick me up. I've got a favourite quiet place where I go if I need some space - I found this by myself and it is a fold up bed my owners have - you can see me in it below.

Anyway, all for now and I'll see you in August when I'm booked in to stay for a holiday at the GSPCA.

Best wishes from Benny’
