All around Guernsey each year businesses and offices have had their 4 legged friends come to work and this ear Bring Your Dog To Work Day takes places on Friday 21st June.

Having a dog in the room can make human colleagues more cooperative, reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and productivity.

When adopting a dog or any animal from the GSPCA we often ask how many hours potential owners may be at work.  Perhaps the question should actually be - are you able to take your dog to work?

Discussing the benefits of taking a dog to work might just result in a match with a dog we have in for homing.

We rehome hundreds of pets every year, with an average 40 to 50 dogs in need of a forever home in Guernsey each year.

Seb Goman GSPCA Animal care Assistant said “We meet so many dogs here at the GSPCA from the strays we reunite to their owners to the boarding dogs in our care, those looking for new homes to those that have been cruelly treated.”

“On Friday 21st June we hope that lots of owners around Guernsey get involved with #BringYourDogtoWorkDay and why not help raise funds for those at the GSPCA at the same time.”

Lorna Prince Animal Welfare Manager said "We rehome and help dozens of dogs every month through the Shelter and the dog training classes we run at the GSPCA, and it is really nice to hear of those owners that can take their dogs to work."

"Annie my little dog often comes to work with me which she both enjoys and often earns her keep with helping with tasks around the Shelter such as school visits or seeing how dogs in for homes behave around other dogs, as does Mouse my other dog who was one of the Slovakian rescue dogs."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “This is the fifth year the GSPCA have been getting involved with #BringYourDogtoWorkDay which is such a fantastic day celebrating dogs in Guernsey.”

“We help rehome 40 to 50 dogs each year in Guernsey and help around 200 strays find their way home.”

“We also help dogs in so many ways from training classes to our boarding and we have a few of the team that regularly bring their dogs to work so we will be involved once again with #BringYourDogtoWorkDay .”

“It all takes place on Friday June 21st and why not in place of a mufti day celebrate #BringYourDogtoWorkDay and help raise funds for the GSPCA.”

“Last year #BringYourDogtoWorkDay was supported by many from Island FM to KPMG and a huge thanks to all that have got involved in previous years and we look forward to lots of pictures and updates for those helping us celebrate this years event.”
