Last night, the GSPCA welcomed 8 islanders to its final Cat First Aid Course of 2025, where attendees learned essential skills to help save a cat’s life in an emergency. From CPR techniques to managing choking and injuries, the course provided practical, hands-on training for pet owners and animal lovers.
Tonight we have our last dog and next week cat first aid training of 2025.
These are the last courses that will be £25 as they go up in 2026 having not been increased for many years.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have had a great year training many islanders, businesses and groups in pet first aid this year and our last courses of 2025 are next month.”
“We have had to move the Cat First Aid training from next week to Tuesday 18th November.”

Last Tuesday 6 dog owners and 1 member of the GSPCA Work 2 Benefit placement attended the first GSPCA Dog First Aid Course of 2024. Last night we held our first Cat First Aid course of 2024 and greeted 7 attendees made of GSPCA team members, Work 2 Benefit placements and cat owners.
