Elvis the Squirrel Spotted Again and Thriving in St Sampson

The GSPCA has received multiple reports over the last week of "Elvis" the grey squirrel, the island's most famous wildlife stowaway, being seen around the St Sampson area.

The sightings suggest Elvis is looking healthy, active and, according to those who have spotted him, extremely fast, making him difficult to photograph and even harder to track.

States of Guernsey issues statement in regards as it has been called 'Cyril the Sarniain Squirrel'

Yesterday the States of Guernsey issued the following on their facebook media channel -

‘To retrieve the grey squirrel which has been spotted in the island, the States Veterinary Officer has asked a local pest controller to set up traps where it has been seen most recently.

We’d kindly ask islanders not to gather where the squirrel has been sighted as this will make the pest controller’s job more difficult.

BREAKING NEWS – Squirrel on the loose in Guernsey.

The GSPCA have just had a report that a squirrel has accidentally found its way to Guernsey via a vehicle.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Breaking news we have just had a report that there is a grey squirrel near Bluchip in St Sampsons.”
