Today we had the lovely Jenny Kendall-Tobias from BBC Guernsey visit the GSPCA Animal Shelter.
Jenny came up to visit Robbie a horse who is in need of a special home.
Robbie arrived at the Shelter at the end of February as his owner could no longer care for him.
Since then we have had the vet and the farrier check over the 17 hand Dutch Warm Blood to tell us the type of home he will need.
Sadly he is not able to compete but would suit a home that has an experienced rider to have a short hack once or twice a week or someone that will keep him well and happy for the rest of his days.
Although on his own at present he has lived with other horses and enjoys company.
Robbie is 15 years old, likes to be the boss and can be quite a cheeky chappy as Jenny found out.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'It was lovely to show JKT around the Shelter and for her to meet Robbie the horse.'
'All the team have grown very fond of the gentle giant, but we really need to find him that forever home.'
'We would love to home him in Guernsey and hope that someone local will take him on.'
'Listen in to BBC Guernsey over the next few days to hear Jenny chatting to Robbie and I at the Shelter and about why he needs a new home.'
If you are interested in helping Robbie the horse find a new home please call 01481 257261 or email [email protected]
