In January 2017 Captain Jack arrived at the GSPCA covered in paint with bald patches and sores.

After cleaning him up we discovered he had very sensitive skin and with a unique character so needed a special home.

After nearly 18 months in our care this Summer we found that forever home and recently got an update on how happy he is.

His new owners said “Here are some photos of Captain Jack, as we know he stayed with you for a long time and you might miss him.”

“Looks like he settled well.”

“He is a really lovely cat!”

“We are so very pleased he has joined our family.”

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant said “Captain Jack was a lovely cat although had a rough start with arriving covered in paint.”

“After weeks of care and treatment he improved although we have found out he has sensitive skin so needed a special home.”

“It is wonderful to see how happy he is in his new home.”

“We have many older cats and those needing special homes at the GSPCA from those with health issues to those looking for farm or stable type homes.”

“You can see many of the cats in need of homes on the website or you can visit them between 11am and 430pm each day.”

Ashleigh Le Page Animal Care Assistant said “We love to hear how pets adopted from the Shelter are getting on and it is lovely to see Captain Jack so relaxed and loving his new home.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “What wonderful pictures from Captain Jacks new owners, a huge thanks to his new family for sending them in.”

“We have lots of adult cats in need of homes and if you can’t adopt one then sponsoring a cat pen is a great way to support those in our care.”
