Last week Shelter volunteers, staff and Bernard our Mascot attended St Andrews Diamond Jubilee Street Party with a stall selling goods to raiseGSPCA fund raising at the Diamond Jubilee street fayre St Andrews Guernsey funds for the GSPCA and a selection of animals looking for homes.

We would like to thank everyone that helped support and volunteered on the day. Although we were only there for a few hours we raised over £190 and managed to find 1 rabbit and 2 guinea pigs new homes.  Some of the visitors that were interested in adopting the animals were invited up to the Shelter to ensure they went through the adoption process and they are now in their new homes.

It was a fun afternoon and volunteers talked to the many visitors about the work the GSPCA carry out and animals looking for new homes.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said ‘Every time we find an animal a new home it makes a real difference.’ ‘We have so many looking for new homes and they all need feeding and caring for which is why we attend events such as this.’  ‘It all helps to raise the much needed funding to care for the hundreds of animals at the GSPCA fund raising at the Diamond Jubilee street fayre St Andrews GuernseyShelter.’  ‘It was a great day and we all enjoyed the Jubilee festivities that St Andrews had to offer.’

It was also the first time Bernard the GSPCA Mascot got to meet Roary the Lion and Bernard gave hime a big hug to say well done to him and Guernsey FC

We still have lots of animals looking for new homes which you can see on www.gspca.org.gg/animals and fundraising events www.gspca.org.gg/fundraising
