Next month the GSPCA will be celebrating 140 years caring for animals in Guernsey and we are appealing for pictures or video clips of the work during our 84 years at our current address or even the early 1900's or late 1800's that anyone that may have.

We have a very good record of our history back until the late 1920's but very few pictures.

Our records include annual reports back to 1929 and even a visitor book from the 1970's with some lovely signatories.

The GSPCA has an amazing history and has helped hundreds of thousands if not millions of animals since the humble beginnings back in 1873 thanks to the support of the local community.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'We have such an amazing history as an animal welfare organisation.'

'We've been looking in our archives here at the GSPCA to see what we have in terms of memorabilia and we have some wonderful documents the oldest being from 1929.'

'Saying this a picture tells a thousand words and we would love anyone that has anything at all to please get in touch.'

'All of the staff and volunteers are very proud to be involved with such a caring organisation and we thank everyone that supports us.'

'If you are having an early spring clean we are asking if you could rummage through the boxes in the attic, the old photo album for any pictures, find videos or even past press articles as we would love to see them.'

'I'm going to be popping along to the local library's to see what I can find but if anyone can help we'd really appreciate it.'

If you do have anything you think may be of interest please pop in or send it to the following
