Tomorrow is the second GSPCA Coffee Morning and Bric-a-brac sale with the Link Centre at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Every Tuesday up to and including the 18th December between 10.30am and 12pm students and staff from the Link Centre will be running coffee mornings at the GSPCA as part of the students Duke of Edinburgh to help raise funds for the Animal Shelter. Last week was the first of them and we are pleased to announce the grand sum of £40 was raised to help animals in Guernsey.

The Link Centre's primary role is that of a specialist centre to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, their schools and families.  To find out more click here.

Not only are there hot and cold drinks and snacks on sale to raise funds for the Shelter, but there is a selection of bric-a-brac, GSPCA goods, pet supplies and many bargains to be had......

These are being held in our training room at the Shelter (which has ramp access), where tables and chairs are available and a small carpet area with toys for young children.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'It is great to be working with the Link Centre and the youngsters and we were pleased with the first event raising £40 and hoping tomorrow we'll see even more visitors.'  'If visitors want to bring along their dogs and cats for microchipping to these events they are more than welcome to do so and it is only £4.99'

If you would like to find out more contact the Shelter on 01481 257261 or pop along on a Tuesday between 10.30am and 12pm for a hot drink and browse the items on sale.

We are hoping to hold more regular coffee mornings to help raise funds for the Shelter and if you think you could help please get in touch with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne on 257261 or email [email protected]

The GSPCA is always trying to raise funds for projects and equipment and a number of items can be seen on the GSPCA wish list by clicking here.

We are very grateful for the recent donations that enabled us to install a new showering facility for dogs at the Animal Shelter.
