Today at the GSPCA we met with Clive and Lynn McMinn to help in the search of Bertie.

As many will know on Saturday near the Vale Primary School around 6pm a 7 year old grey Schnauzer rescue dog called Bertie was scared by bonfire displays and escaped from his back garden.

The GSPCA are helping co-ordinate the search for Bertie and have a working map with sightings, locations, dates and times.

We would like to highlight that Bertie is a very timid little lad especially with men and people he doesn't know.

If you do spot him then please call us at the GSPCA on 01481 257261

Please do not approach or try to catch him as it is likely to scare him away and not help with his safe capture.  If you do try to approach him he is likely to take off.

If he is in a secure area where you can close a gate or door then please do so and give us a call at the Shelter.

With all reports the time, location and direction of movement is extremely important.

If you are able to get a picture or video clip this would also help.

We are in close contact with Clive and Lynn and will pass on any information regarding reports that we receive.

At the GSPCA we have team members at the end of a phone and manning our ambulance 24 hours a day.

There is a reward for his return of £200.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We have spent some time with Lynn and Clive today at the GSPCA devising a plan and talking through the habits of Bertie."

"It has been amazing how everyone has come together in the search of this little lad and we would urge any sightings to be reported as quickly as possible to the GSPCA."

"If you are in the North of Guernsey and you think he may be eating food you are popping out for feral cats or hedgehogs, or possibly bedding down in your outhouse or barn please do get in touch."

"We really want to get Bertie home to his owners as soon as possible and we urge anyone that spots him not to chase after him as this can make catching him far more difficult."
