On Saturday a Craft Stash sale was organised at Iris and Dora in St Martins.
This wonderful event was run by a group of fantastic supporters to raise funds to help the GSPCA and Sarnia Guinea Pig Rescue.
Christine Guerin one of the organisors said "Well, that's our sale all done and dusted."
"What a great day we had - a big THANK YOU to everyone who came along to buy, everyone who donated items to sell and all the helpers who gave up their time."
"A big thank you also to Denyse McGahy and Paul at Iris & Dora for lending us the space."
"I am still feeling a bit stunned by this but we made a phenomenal amount for our 2 chosen charities - the GSPCA and Sarnia Guinea Pig Rescue."
"Wait for it......... just over £1,100.00! AMAZING!"
"We counted twice as we couldn't quite believe it! We are going to split it evenly between the 2 charities."
"For those of you who either missed today or just can't enough of buying craft stuff Saumarez WI are holding a similar sale on Saturday 11 February at St Martin's Parish Hall, not for the same charities, so put the date in your diaries."
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "A huge thank you to Christine and all involved and supported the Craft Stash Sale on Saturday that raised an amazing £1100 to be shared between ourselves at the GSPCA and Sarnia Guinea Pig Rescue."
"With over 300 animals in our care at the GSPCA and in excess of 3000 animals through our doors every year and the thousands of families and pet owners we help every penny makes a real difference and we really appreciate the wonderful and caring support."
