All around Guernsey businesses and offices have had their 4 legged friends come to work and it has been fantastic to see Island FM getting involved.

Having a dog in the room can make human colleagues more cooperative, reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and productivity.

When adopting a dog or any animal from the GSPCA we often ask how many hours potential owners may be at work.  Perhaps the question should actually be - are you able to take your dog to work?

Discussing the benefits of taking a dog to work might just result in a match with a dog we have in for homing.

We rehome hundreds of pets every year, with an average 40 to 50 dogs in need of a forever home in Guernsey each year.

Lorna Prince Animal Welfare Manager said "We rehome and help dozens of dogs every month through the Shelter and the dog training classes we run at the GSPCA, and it is really nice to hear of those owners that can take their dogs to work."

"Annie my little dog often comes to work with me which she both enjoys and often earns her keep with helping with tasks around the Shelter such as school visits or seeing how dogs in for homes behave around other dogs, as does Mouse my other dog who was one of the Slovakian rescue dogs."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "Thank you so much to Maisie Foote from Island FM for sending in a few pictures of the dogs that joined them today at the radio station.”

"KPMG have also joined in with 'Take Your Dog To Work Day' and we have seen some great pictures from the Livingroom."

"Some have joined in for fun and others to help raise funds for the GSPCA and a huge thanks to all that have been involved."

"For those that have helped raise funds this will be helping with our Urgent Kennel Floor Appeal."

"Our kennel floors, to replace and repair due to drainage faults is going to cost £65,000 so all help or support is hugely appreciated."
