We are pleased to report the Lido the silver long haired main coon went for his life saving operation on Monday and is recovering well despite a much larger growth than expected.

The operation took place at Isabelle Vets who kindly undertook the surgery at a huge discount and thanks to the many amazing donations the £1500 was raised.

The surgery had to be much more extensive than first thought and with much of Lido’s right ear canal missing he is sadly now deaf on one side but without the operation his life was at great risk.

Lido now has his own recovery room and is on daily pain relief and treatment while having special cuddles from the GSPCA to help him feel better.

Anna Paint Senior Animal care Assistant said “Lido went for his operation on Monday and he is now recovering at the GSPCA.”

“It was a much larger lump than first thought and he is on a lot of treatment currently to help him fully recover.”

“He is now deaf in his right ear but if we hadn’t have had the lump removed he wouldn’t have lived for long.”

Steve Byrne GPSCA Manager said “A huge thank you to Isabelle Vets and all of those that donated to this amazing cats operation.”

“Lido has a special room all to him self and he is getting lots of TLC from the team.”

“We have so many people wanting to adopt him and once he is fit enough we hope to have him in a new home very soon.”

“Lido is one of over 500 animals in our care currently and for those looking to adopt a cat we have quite a few older felines and some with their own health or other challenges needing a special new home.”
