At the GSPCA we now see over 40 ferrets coming into our care each year.

Most come in as strays and many are here for many months as we find it hard to find them loving new homes.

We were overjoyed last week when we had an enquiry from Alderney offering a home to ferrets.

With nearly 10 in our care the gentleman popped over to visit those in our care and Little Man and Tobias took his fancy.

Both ferrets made the journey with their new owner and we have just heard that they are settling well.

Both ferrets were found as strays and very young.  Little Man was found near St Saviours Church last July and brought in by one of our Wardens and Tobias was also found the same week by a member of public in the same area.

James Cooper who adopted Tobias and Little Man said "I thought you guys would appreciate some pictures of Leo and Archie who were Little Man and Tobias."

"They have settled into their home really well."

"These photos are of us introducing them to their permanent enclosure which we finished at the weekend."

"Thanks again for two beautiful and healthy boys."

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said "I look after the many ferrets at the GSPCA and we have seen an increase in numbers each year."

"Like so many ferrets in Guernsey Tobias and Little Man were found as strays and were born in the wild."

"Thankfully ferrets even wild one's have very little fear of humans and after regular handling they will quickly calm down and settle."

"It was lovely to hear from and meet James, and it is wonderful that our two newly named ferrets Leo and Archie are settling into their new home in Alderney."

"We do rehome animals across the Bailiwick and you can see many of the animals in need of homes on our GSPCA web site or please call us on 01481 257261 to find out more."
