The GSPCA would like to thank the Guernsey National Trust for allowing us to join them for their wonderful fundraiser held on the first Monday of July (held the same in any year).

Le Viaër Marchi is a colourful and widely anticipated annual event in Guernsey’s calendar and continues to be the Guernsey National Trust’s greatest fundraiser.

The event was held, at Saumarez Park and with the great weather attracted a huge gathering of locals and visitors.

An Amamzing Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday - Thank you to everyone who helped make an amazing day

On Sunday 14th September the GSPCA held our third Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday in St Peter Port and what a fantastic day it was.

Stall holders started arriving from 7am and with the road closing at 8am the set up began.

Although a little breezy the sun was shining and the weather was just right for an outside event.

At 9.40am the Battle of Britain marched through with a great group of spectators and they were inspected outside the Town Church by the Lieutenant Governor and Deputy Bailiff which started the day in a wonderful way.

Stunning Kingfisher rescued only 2 days early for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday 14th September

Submitted by Steve on 14:37, 12th Sep, 2014 | 0

Earlier today the GSPCA were called out to rescue one of the most regal and stunning of birds in Guernsey.

Animal Collection Officer Geoff George was called out to the Model Yacht Pond which is renowned for sea birds such as Gulls, but was faced with a much more unusual feathered bird.

The bird he was called to rescue was none other than a female kingfisher.

The bird has been rehydrated and seems in reasonable health but Shelter staff have now made her comfortable at the GSPCA.
