The GSPCA (Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is delighted to announce a major milestone in the Big Build project – the foundations for the much-anticipated Wildlife Hospital have officially begun.
This crucial development marks a significant step forward in the GSPCA’s mission to provide world-class care for injured and orphaned wildlife across the Bailiwick. The new Wildlife Hospital will offer state-of-the-art facilities to rehabilitate and treat local species, from hedgehogs and birds to seals and marine life, ensuring they get the care they need close to home.

“Every year we help thousands of wild animals, and this facility will give them the best chance of recovery and release back into the wild.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the Big Build so far, but we still need help to raise the remaining £2.2 million to bring this vision to life."
In a heart-warming update, the GSPCA has also announced that two rescued seal pups currently in their care are nearly ready for release and will be returning to the wild in the next two weeks. These pups were rehabilitated thanks to the dedication of the team and the existing limited facilities, further highlighting the urgent need for a dedicated wildlife hospital.
The GSPCA continues to appeal to the public, businesses, and the wider community to support the Big Build. Every donation – large or small – helps bring the Wildlife Hospital and much-needed dog kennel improvements one step closer to completion.
