The GSPCA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the organisers of the Torteval Scarecrow Festival for once again welcoming our team to take part in this wonderfully creative and much-loved community event.
Although we didn’t take home the top prize this year, we had a fantastic time creating our scarecrow ‘Fin- tastic friend from the GSP-Sea-A’ and being part of the fun. The festival is always a highlight in the summer calendar, bringing people together through laughter, imagination, and community spirit — and we’re honoured to be a part of it.
We are especially grateful to the kind family who generously allowed us to use their garden as the location for our entry. Their support made it possible for us to take part and showcase our scarecrow among so many fantastic creations.

Seb Goman GSPCA Chief Scarecrow Maker and GSPCA Senior Team member said “We hope everyone really enjoyed seeing our entry ‘Fin- tastic friend from the GSP-Sea-A’ which featured Barnacle Bill the loggerhead turtle, scarecrow dolphins highlighting the Dolphin Discovery Trail we are doing with Autism Guernsey this year, there was a little squirrel in there and of course the Wildlife Hospital was featured which we are appealing for funds to continue the biggest build in our history.”
“It is a real team effort to get our scarecrow display made and out at the Torteval Scarecrow event and thank you to all involved and supported.”
As always, the GSPCA is incredibly proud to be part of Guernsey’s vibrant and supportive community. Events like these help raise awareness of the work we do and remind us how lucky we are to be surrounded by such generosity and goodwill.
