The GSPCA are appealing for the owner of a stray white turkey that has been at the Shelter for over a week.
Kiki as she has been fondly named was rescued from the Forest Road area on Saturday the 4th August after being reported to the Shelter wondering the streets.
She has been under treatment and is doing well but as yet no owner has come forward. Kiki has a very friendly nature and staff are confident that there must be an owner that is missing this lovely bird and we are hoping to have them re-united.
Just over a week ago a stray snake arrived at the Shelter after being brought in by ACO Geoff George.
The snake was spotted basking in the sun and was placed safely in a container where she spent several days before doing a Houdini act.
The little lady managed to escape and Shelter staff are now looking for her.
It is highly unlikely she has got out of the Shelter as she was in a secure room and building but if you do spot a Californian King Snake please get in touch.
This morning the GSPCA had an unusual call to collect a scaly little stray.
Ambulance Driver Geoff George often has calls to collect stray dogs, cats, rabbits and even help round up farm animals. This morning however he was called to help this little fella.
The snake was spotted by a member of public and phoned the GSPCA. Geoff went out collected the young snake and we are now identifying the species and appealing for anyone who has lost a snake to come forward to the Shelter.
