Battle of Britain Parade 9.40am - Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday 14th September

This Sunday is the biggest event of the year for the GSPCA.

The day is packed with events, stalls and more but for stall holders we are asking everyone to set up between 8am and 930am with all vehicles parked by 930am as there is the Battle of Britain parade who prepare at 9.40am and set off at 9.50am.

The parade will come from the Weighbridge Roundabout and will then line up outside the Town Church and Marks and Spencers for an inspection.

The inspection takes place with His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey and the Deputy Bailiff of Guernsey.

Cuddly toy appeal - GSPCA appeal for soft toys for our BIGGEST event of the year - Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday 14th September

At the GSPCA we are normally appealing for homes for animals, but we are currently appealing for your unwanted soft toys.

After a very busy summer fund raising at many events we are running low on cuddly toys which we use as prizes on some of our games to help raise funds for the Shelter.

If you have any unwanted soft toys then please pop them up to the Shelter or if you need a vehicle to pick up quite a few then please let us know and we can arrange collection.

Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday Giant Animal Mascot 2013 Results

We must thank everyone that helped, took part and supported the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.

The day was a fantastic success with lots of family fun and enjoyment.

One of the main spectacles was the Animal Mascot Race which took place on Sunday at 1pm and this year the race included -

  • Spacehoppers
  • Sack Racing
  • Spinning Plates
  • Hula Hooping and then having to repeat on the way back

With only a few days to go to the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday and the last of the Seafront Sundays for 2013 here is a list of just some of the events and times -

8am Seafront Road closes for setting up of the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday

9.45am Stall holders to have their  vehicles off of the Seafront unless permission has been pre arranged

10.00am  Military parade along the Seafront to the Town Church

LIVE MUSIC from CHAOS EVENTS – Greenman MCC

As part of our Seafront Sunday event on September the 9th you will be able to enjoy a huge variety of live music from some amazing local talents.

The stage will be situated on the seafront close to the Ship and Crown in the heart of our event.

The line-up is absolutely fantastic and we would like to thank everyone involved.

GSPCA talk to BBC Guernsey about the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday with some animal friends

Yesterday staff and some giant animals popped along to BBC Guernsey to talk to Euan Mahy about the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.

Shelter staff took over the studio with two kittens and 4 giant mascots.  To find out all about the day and how you can sponsor and man a giant animal on the day please read below.
